Uusikaupunki is an idyllic town on the south-western coast of Finland. A town recognized by its beautiful wooden houses and unique location by the sea. It is one of the oldest towns in Finland - King Gustav II Adolf founded Uusikaupunki already in 1617. There are two pikes in the coat of arms of Uusikaupunki. Colors are the same as in the coat of arms of Vasaborg; Uusikaupunki was the center of Vasaborg county in 1646-1680. Uusikaupunki has had its take in the European history; the peace of The Great Northern War was signed in Uusikaupunki in 1721.
Currently there are almost 17 000 residents living in Uusikaupunki and its rural area. Uusikaupunki is also known of its car production; Porsche Boxster is manufactured here. People coming to the town for the first time are always surprised by the interesting sights, old wooden houses, cosy restaurants and hotels and versatile services. Entertaining happenings are held all the time and there are very good possibilities for different interests.
